Loraine Condominiums to Receive Facelift

As the historic Hotel Loraine building approaches its centennial in 2024, a major exterior restoration project will be completed this summer, which will give the landmark beauty just off the Capitol Square a scheduled facelift.

The Loraine has been home to 84 luxury residential condominium homes and five businesses since 2004.  Past uses in the building included a luxury hotel, popular restaurants and offices for the Wisconsin Department of Justice.

Building Restoration Corporation of Roseville, MN is the lead contractor to refurbish brick and terra cotta finishes.  BRC has over 30 years of experience in historic and restoration masonry.

Facility Engineering, Inc., of Madison is the consulting architectural firm that will oversee BRC’s progress.  FEI and BRC are coordinating the use of historically appropriate materials and methods, which will enable the utilization of Wisconsin historic tax credits to be granted to residential owners, which will ease the financial burden of the project.
